How to Choose Industrial TFT‑LCD for Factory HMI Control Panels
Human‑Machine Interface (HMI) panels are widely installed on CNC machine tools, packaging machinery, assembly lines and other factory automation equipment. When original screens fail or project upgrades are required, many mechanical and electrical engineers make the mistake of selecting consumer‑grade display modules. Consumer screens are low‑cost but not built for 7×24 continuous operation and harsh workshop conditions.
Before placing your order, please focus on four core specifications:

1. Operating Temperature Range
Workshop temperature fluctuates greatly. Standard industrial LCD supports -20℃ ~ +70℃. For cold storage, high‑temperature production workshops, you need wide‑temperature panels with -30℃ ~ +85℃ range. Wrong temperature rating will lead to screen colour shift, black screen and shortened service life.
2. Brightness Level
300‑500 cd/m² is sufficient for indoor cabinet HMI. If your device is semi‑outdoor or exposed to ambient sunlight, select high‑brightness LCD ≥800 cd/m² to prevent picture from being washed out.
3. Hardware Interface Matching
LVDS, RGB and Parallel are mainstream interfaces. When replacing old HMI screens, confirm interface definition first. Mismatched interface will force you to redesign driver boards and raise project costs.
4. Long‑Term Supply Availability
Industrial automation equipment usually runs for 5‑10 years. Avoid consumer panels with short lifecycle. End‑of‑life screens will bring maintenance trouble for your after‑sales service.
