BOE Varitronix Vietnam Automotive Display Base successfully lights up its first full-process product
On September 26, according to BOE Varitronix, the first full-process product of BOE Varitronix Vietnam Automotive Display Base was lit up recently.
BOE Varitronix stated that after 502 days and nights of hard work since its construction began in April 2024, the base's first fully integrated automotive display product was successfully lit up in September. This marks a significant milestone in the company's expansion into Vietnam and lays a solid foundation for subsequent large-scale mass production. This marks the crucial transition from process commissioning to mass production preparation for the Vietnam automotive display base, demonstrating its full-process product delivery capabilities and global market service capabilities.According to reports, the total investment in BOE Varitronix Vietnam Automotive Display Base exceeds RMB 300 million. It mainly develops and produces high-end automotive display products and complete display systems and other automotive cockpit products, with a designed production capacity of 50,000 modules per month.It is reported that the base has currently been designated for several major projects, including the 14.6-inch central control, 8-inch central control, 8.1-inch instrument display of a leading Korean automaker and the over 36-inch instrument and central control integrated screen of a well-known North American new energy vehicle company. It is expected to achieve large-scale mass production by the end of the year.As an important part of the world's three major production capacity bases, the Vietnam automotive display base is also an important step in BOE's globalization strategy. On the one hand, it will become a strategic fulcrum for serving important global regional markets such as North America, Europe, Japan and South Korea in the future, further enhancing BOE's response speed and service capabilities in the global market, and promoting the company's global operations to a new level; on the other hand, it will also drive the gathering of local automotive and pan-industrial upstream and downstream industries, injecting strong momentum into the development of local industries in Vietnam.According to data, BOE's Vietnam Smart Terminal Phase II project began construction in April 2024. This is BOE's first independently invested and built smart factory overseas and a major step in BOE's global strategic layout.The project is located in the industrial zone of Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, with a total investment of RMB 2.02 billion. It will build a smart factory with an annual output of 3 million TVs, 7 million monitors, 40 million electronic papers and other smart terminals. Mass production is expected in 2025.In December 2024, the first trial production of BOE's Varitronix Vietnam automotive display production base was a complete success.In August 2025, the base completed the production of the first sample.
