Three days off every other week! Panel manufacturers Innolux encourage employees to take more vacations

According to Taiwanese media outlet Commercial Times, panel giant Innolux has begun internally encouraging vacations. From September to December, the company has introduced a "three-day off every other week" plan, along with consecutive days off for holidays like Mid-Autumn Festival and Christmas, sparking heated discussion among employees.

Following its initial initiative to encourage employees to take three days off every other week from May to August, Innolux recently announced a new "three days off every other week" program from September to December. This program encourages employees to take every other Friday off, effectively giving them two weeks of three days off each month. Furthermore, for holidays like Mid-Autumn Festival and Christmas, taking three days off can create a longer vacation period.

Innolux recently announced its second-quarter 2025 operating results, reporting consolidated revenue of NT$56.2 billion (the same below), an operating net loss of NT$780 million, and a net loss after tax of NT$680 million. Looking back at the second quarter of 2025, panel demand slowed as some demand for consumer displays had already been released ahead of schedule. The company continued to optimize its product portfolio and pricing strategy to maintain overall stable performance. Revenue from its non-display segment and commercial display products increased by 9% and 2% quarter-over-quarter, respectively. Overall second-quarter revenue increased slightly by 0.53% quarter-over-quarter, and gross profit margin also increased slightly by approximately one percentage point quarter-over-quarter.

Looking ahead to the third quarter of 2025, panel demand is expected to become more conservative in the second half of the year due to tariff uncertainties and some customers' early purchases in the first half of the year. Panel manufacturers are generally adopting a production-on-demand strategy, which helps maintain supply-demand balance and price stability. In the face of market uncertainty, Innolux continues to monitor and dynamically adjust its product portfolio and improve production efficiency, thereby enhancing overall competitiveness and maintaining stable operations. At the same time, Innolux continues to implement a dual-track transformation strategy, deepening its presence in high-margin businesses.

Innolux noted that in the face of shifting industries and trends, the company continues to monitor market demand, employing a flexible business strategy and rapidly and appropriately adjusting to maintain stable operations. Innolux encourages employees to schedule vacations around holidays or according to their personal needs, allowing them to recharge and maximize productivity and efficiency in the future. Due to capacity planning, production line personnel are not included in this plan. Furthermore, Innolux prioritizes employee work and personal well-being, providing travel/study funds, and offering benefits such as filial leave, accompanying childcare leave, paternity leave, and flexible work hours and locations that exceed statutory requirements.
