With a total investment of 2 billion yuan, this OLED polarizer project officially started production in Chengdu

On September 16, Nitto Denko's OLED polarizer project officially commenced production in Chengdu's Chongzhou Economic Development Zone. Once fully operational, the project is expected to generate annual revenue exceeding 4 billion yuan at its Chongzhou production base and create approximately 1,000 new jobs. This will further consolidate Chengdu's position as a key upstream player in the new display industry chain and significantly enhance the Chengdu-Chongqing economic zone's independent supply capabilities in high-value-added materials.

In 2023, Ridong Materials Technology (Chengdu) Co., Ltd. signed a contract with Chongzhou City for a 2 billion yuan investment to build a new OLED polarizer production base. The project, covering approximately 90 mu (including land reserved for a second phase), will have a 60,000 square meter plant area. The base will primarily produce OLED polarizers and E-Mask large-scale optical films. This project is a key component of Chengdu's efforts to strengthen its ecosystem for the new display industry. It will effectively fill a gap in Chengdu's upstream OLED polarizer materials sector, further elevate the capacity and visibility of Chongzhou's new display industry, and significantly enhance Chongzhou's collaborative development within Chengdu's electronic information ecosystem.

Founded in 1918, Nitto Denko is a leading global manufacturer of functional materials, recognized for many consecutive years in the Forbes Global 2000 and Clarivate's Top 100 Global Innovators. Its products cover high-tech fields such as electronic materials, display devices, and healthcare. Nitto Denko holds a particularly leading position globally in polarizers and optical films, and has long provided core materials support to leading panel manufacturers such as BOE and China Star Optoelectronics.

Nitto Denko settled in the Chongzhou Economic Development Zone in 2017 and established Nitto Materials Technology (Chengdu) Co., Ltd. Chongzhou is Nitto Denko's only production base in western China. Initially, the company primarily produced OLED optical films in Chongzhou and has become a core supplier of E-Mask (optical protective film) to Chengdu BOE.

To ensure the efficient operation and sustainable development of the Ridong project, the Chongzhou Economic Development Zone Management Committee actively engaged in supporting investment promotion, precisely matching 13 target companies. Currently, they have successfully attracted two supporting enterprises: Suzhou Kechuang Electronics and Chengdu Yongxingchen Optoelectronics Technology. These companies will provide "local supply and immediate delivery" of core auxiliary materials such as optical protective film and anti-static packaging materials, significantly shortening supply chain cycles and improving response efficiency, providing a solid foundation for the stable operation of Ridong Electric's high-end production lines.
